A birds eye view of The Elements site
Development activity
Construction of The Elements has passed the half-way mark.
The new multi storey car park is now open, providing 1,500 new parking spaces for Livingston's shoppers.
On the Debenhams site, steelwork and external stonework are progressing well and electrical services are being installed. Scaffolding has been removed from the west side of the building.
On the Marks & Spencer site, steelwork and asphalt roofing are now complete, and external blockwork and terracotta cladding are ongoing. Scaffolding has now been removed from the north side of the building.
Installation of the steel framework for the ETFE roof is ongoing and the transparent ETFE roof tiles are being put in place.
The pedestrian walkway has been open for several months between Almondvale Shopping Centre and Livingston Designer Outlet for the convenience of shoppers during construction of The Elements. The walkway, which is open between 5.30am and 9pm, is well-lit and features CCTV cameras for the safety and protection of the public. Aerial pictures of the site are on display in the walkway.
Miller Construction (UK) Ltd is working closely with West Lothian Council and Almondvale Centre Management to ensure disruption is minimised as much as possible.
